Science - we are wrapping up the electricity unit and have been discussing the benefits and impacts of  our use of electricity in different ways.  After the break, we will be going into the chemistry unit! Math:  Students are working on understanding fractions and performing operations with fractions, as well as solving everyday problems that involve fractions. Students are encouraged to continue to do Mathletics practice of these concepts.  When we get back, we will be reviewing improper and mixed fractions to start off. Have a great break!
Math: Today we continued to practice adding fractions and learned about adding mixed fractions.  Please do Mathletics practice at home. Science:  Today we worked on the energy sources assignment.   Please ensure that you finish this assignment on google docs and share with me by the end of the day tomorrow.
Math: Today we practiced identifying, comparing, and sorting fractions.
Today in Science: Today we discussed electrical safety in the home and outdoors.  We did an activity where students were asked to identify any safety hazards they see in the picture. Today in Math:  Students furthered their understanding of fractions and learned how to partition and  label parts of a whole shape.  The students were also provided with fraction worksheets to practice the concepts they learned.
