In Science, Students have been learning about the risks and dangers of exploring space, Canadian contributions to space technology, and the political, environmental, and ethical issues that come with exploring space.

To wrap things up, students will be researching and article in the news about a space issues and making  a powerpoint to talk about what the issue is and what kind of issue it is (political, environmental, or ethical).  They will further discuss how the issue affects us personally.  Please see the google drive for the assignment titled: Space Issues in the News

Science - we are wrapping up the electricity unit and have been discussing the benefits and impacts of  our use of electricity in different ways.  After the break, we will be going into the chemistry unit! Math:  Students are working on understanding fractions and performing operations with fractions, as well as solving everyday problems that involve fractions. Students are encouraged to continue to do Mathletics practice of these concepts.  When we get back, we will be reviewing improper and mixed fractions to start off. Have a great break!
