 Today in Math and Science

Math:  Students learned about prime factorization, using factor trees.  We also learned about the difference between and prime and a composite number.

Science:  We are starting the new unit on Electrical Principles and TechnologiesStudents learned about various forms of energy and were able to research and identify examples for each form of energy.

Science - we are wrapping up the electricity unit and have been discussing the benefits and impacts of  our use of electricity in different ways.  After the break, we will be going into the chemistry unit! Math:  Students are working on understanding fractions and performing operations with fractions, as well as solving everyday problems that involve fractions. Students are encouraged to continue to do Mathletics practice of these concepts.  When we get back, we will be reviewing improper and mixed fractions to start off. Have a great break!
